Adventures in Ironic Dining?

You thought 81 bucks for a hamburger was crazy? Gothamist has the details on this one again but... the Wall Street Burger Shoppe offers an all-day menu of interesting burgers ranging from $4-$6. And their bar menu has a burger for $18, and nothing else on their menu comes remotely close to costing what the "Richard Nouveau" burger costs...so one has to wonder what the restaurant is trying to say? In fact, google the name Richard Nouveau...interesting stuff. In fact, you don't even have to do that, read the "About Us" page on Pocket Change, the site that offered the video from the Burger Shoppe. In fact, just look at the whole site - it's an ironic comment on the state of the super rich today.

In other words...this appears to be some kind of a joke. Or some kind of attempt at Ironic Cuisine. How ironic can it be though if you're actually charging that much for it and people are able and willing to buy it? Actually, that's very ironic.

Strange times are here...
